Founded in 1460, the University
of Basel is the oldest university of the Swiss Confederation.
It combines an academic tradition going back 500 years with
a spirit which is resolutely open to change. The present
day
university is a modern establishment, linked to an international
research network and proposing an attractive palette of programmes
and a wide and varied range of services. With its seven faculties
the University of Basel is an all-round university. Its human
proportions make the University of
Basel particularly attractive for teachers and students.
With about 8 700 students
and its exceptional range of teaching programmes, it has
retained an individual and
personal dimension. |
